MPLT Healthcare’s Provider of the Year 2025: Dr. Susan Tucker

At MPLT Healthcare, our Provider of the Year recognition celebrates physicians who go beyond filling a need. It honors those who make a lasting difference for patients and communities.

We are proud to recognize Dr. Susan Tucker, Pediatric Endocrinologist, as our 2025 Provider of the Year.

A Commitment That Goes Beyond the Assignment

Since October 2023, Dr. Tucker has served at Marshfield Children’s, where she quickly became a trusted part of the team. While many locum providers complete their assignment and move on, Dr. Tucker chose to invest fully in the program and the people it serves.

Her focus has always been that the patient's well-being comes first. Dr. Tucker steps in where needed, supports staff without hesitation, and approaches each day with purpose. Her consistency and reliability have made her an essential part of the care team and nothing short of remarkable.

Stepping Up When It Mattered Most

During a critical period, the program faced a four- to six-month gap without an endocrinologist on site. Access to care became a serious concern, especially for pediatric patients who often travel long distances for specialty services.

Dr. Tucker helped keep the program running. She recognized the strain on families and worked with the team to introduce virtual care options. This approach helped maintain continuity for patients while the facility searched for a permanent solution.

Her initiative not only addressed an immediate need, but it also helped protect access to care during a difficult transition.

Thoughtful Approach

Dr. Tucker is known for sound clinical judgment and a thoughtful approach to complex cases. She takes the time to assess each situation carefully and makes decisions that support the best possible outcomes. She works to ensure that every child and family feels supported, informed, and cared for throughout their treatment. Her approach reflects genuine compassion, diligence, and excellence.

A Positive Presence for Patients and Teams

“What sets Dr. Tucker apart is not just her skills but also her genuine compassion,” Sushma Tucker, Pediatric Hospitalist at Marshfield Children’s Hospital explains.  “Her friendly demeanor and ability to connect with both patients and families create a supportive and trusting environment, which greatly enhances the patient experience. She not only meets expectations but consistently strives for excellence in all that she does.”

An Outstanding Partner Throughout the Process

From a recruitment and credentialing perspective, Dr. Tucker has been an outstanding partner. She completed credentialing for two facilities, and both processes moved smoothly thanks to her responsiveness and attention to detail.

She communicates quickly, provides information without delay, and approaches each step with professionalism. What stands out most is her attitude. She is consistently kind, appreciative, and trusting of the teams supporting her. That level of partnership makes a meaningful difference.

Leading with Gratitude and Purpose

Dr. Tucker’s energy speaks for itself. She brings gratitude into every interaction and shows genuine appreciation for the people around her. That mindset strengthens relationships and reinforces the collaborative spirit that makes locum tenens successful.

Making a Lasting Impact

In years of experience working with locum providers, colleagues describe Dr. Tucker as one of the most dedicated and impactful physicians they have encountered. She leaves a positive impression after every patient encounter and contributes to the strength of every program she joins.

We are honored to recognize Dr. Susan Tucker as MPLT Healthcare’s 2025 Provider of the Year. Her commitment to patients, her partnership with our team, and her willingness to step up when it matters most reflect the very best of locum tenens medicine.

Thank you, Dr. Tucker, for the care you provide and the difference you make every day.
